Adaptation Accuracy of Cast Metallic Single Tooth Restorations

چکیده
Achieving metallic frameworks of single tooth restorations involves obtaining high precision parts. Adaptation accuracy is one of the main factors that influence single tooth restorations long-term reliability. The purpose of the study was to test innovative methods for adaptation accuracy evaluation of different single tooth cast restorations. Acrylic teeth were prepared for single tooth cast restorations using traditional preparation methods. Ni-Cr alloy frameworks were obtained through classical laboratory procedures. Light silicone was inserted between each restoration and tooth preparation. Subsequently two distinct working methods were chosen: the introduction of light silicone in putty silicone respectively introduction of the whole complex restoration-preparation-silicone in acrylic resin. Marginal and internal fit for all restorations were measured on cross-sections. It was noticed that the first method is of choice for intracoronal restorations, and the second for cast post-and-core. Featheredge preparations showed the best accuracy for cast metallic restorations. Using base metal alloys for restorations, the discrepancies were smaller for extracoronal restorations, than for intarcoronal. Key-Words: single tooth restorations, metallic frameworks, adaptation accuracy, marginal fit, internal fit, crosssections, discrepancies.

Finite element analysis of roots restored with metallic posts and ceramic crowns during occlusal movement
Oral rehabilitation of endodontically treated roots is inherently difficult, and the functional loads result in extremely complex structural responses of the oral tissues. The objective of this study was to evaluate, by finite element analysis, stresses induced in an endodontically treated maxillary central incisor that was restored with a cast metallic post and core system and a overlying cera...

AIM The purpose of this in vitro study was to investigate the marginal accuracy and internal fit of complete cast crowns and three-unit fixed partial dentures (FPDs) cast with commercially pure titanium (CPTi) and Titanium-Aluminum-Vanadium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V). METHODS AND MATERIALS CPTi and Ti-6Al-4V alloy were used to cast twelve single crowns and twelve three-unit FPDs. A traveling microscop...

fabricated and prefabricated. In the late 19th century, the “Richmond crown,” a single-piece post-retained crown with a porcelain facing, was engineered to function as a bridge retainer. Richmond crown is not post and core system but it is customized, cast able post and crown system as both are single unit and casted together. It is easier to make cast metal restorations with the aid of posts f...
متن کاملStress Distribution in Premolars with MOD Cast Metal Restorations
Little information is available on the stress analysis of cast metallic inlays and onlays. Modern design and valuation in order to obtain an adequate framework strength involves numerical simulations. The aim of the paper was to evaluate, the effect of MOD cavity design for cast metal inlays and onlays on stress distribution in teeth structures and restorations. The study was performed on an up...

The aim of this study was to relate the clinical case of a patient with oral lichen planus (OLP) and a history of epidermoid carcinoma associated with metallic restorations. The etiology of OLP is a mucocutaneous disease, which is poorly understood. Studies point to the potential of malignant transformation of OLP and its association with metallic restorations. The metallic restorations were re...
